They're calling it stable this round. No significant growth. Next MRI is in 3 months.
Also, Faith graduated from Pre-School tonight. It was a very cute "ceremony." Our baby girl goes to kindergarten in the Fall!!! Yikes.

On our way to Madison for another MRI. We're nervous for the results, and just generally dreading the long day ahead. Will report back this evening. Prayers for no growth and safe travels!!Friday, May 1, 2009 - 4:17pm
We had a question in the guestbook about how Hailey is doing, so just a quick update. We remain in a watch and wait mode with her right now. Last MRI showed no growth in the tumor since the end of chemo. Her next MRI is May 21st. We are nervous already, but trying not to think about it. Difficult thing to describe if you haven't been in this situation, but when you know the tumor could begin growing at any time, the MRI appointments are that much more stressful. All indications so far are Hailey is doing well. She is doing everything a normal 3 year old should do. She's happy (most of the time) and active. She just did a round of gymnastics at the Y this winter and liked it and did well. She is still pretty shy and particular about certain things, and her nervous system tends to be more sensitive than most (at least it seems that way to us), but then again, she is 3 years old and has been through ALOT already in her short life AND there are a whole host of behaviors that can come with that age to begin with. Physically she also seems to be pretty much on track. She's still a little skinny and maybe a bit uncoordinated at times, but she is on the growth chart for weight and she's strong as an ox (if you've ever had to battle her to get her shoes or socks on, you'd know what I mean). So all in all, she is doing as well as we can hope (we feel like a broken record but it's true). We're just admittedly on pins and needles over here. Never real comfortable, not until there is a cure at least. And I'm not sure I can watch too many more episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Too many stories about sick kids!!
Faith is also doing very well. She has been in gymnastics as well, and has continued to attend through spring. She loves it! She's also started up soccer, although both of the first two weeks have been rained out. She's turning into such a little lady and a pretty good little athlete. She's a good girl and a good big sister. She's also starting Kindergarten this Fall. Where has the time gone! Life is moving fast...
Thanks for the continued support and well-wishes. We read our guestbook every day.

Thanks to all of you who participated in, sponsored, supported, or volunteered for the Run/Walk this weekend. The weather was not good again this year, but the turnout was amazing. We are still gathering and confirming final numbers, but it appears registrations were up by almost 100 from last year. And it looks initially like total dollars raised for the PLGA Foundation will end up around $40,000! All in all, we feel good about the numbers in this economy, and feel totally INSPIRED by the attendance and the support from the people that were involved on Saturday despite bad weather. We saw so many faces we knew and many we didn't, and so many people who had the best attitude about getting soaking wet out on the course. It really was very uplifting to Shannon and I on many levels. Grandma Peg and the team of volunteers deserve a ton of credit for pulling off a very well run and successful event. We are so lucky to have the support we do around us!!
We will post race results in the EVENTS section of the site soon (Go to "EVENTS" and then "Reports of Previos events") and we will report back when we have final numbers as well.
